Frequently Asked Questions

I have multiple YNAB budgets, how do I pick the correct budget?

Ace My Budget only supports single budget connections. During your first login, on the "Authorize Ace My Budget" page, the page will have a dropdown which asks you to set your "default budget". If you've already logged in, a way to change the selected budget would be to log out of Ace My Budget (top right button here: https://acemybudget.com/dashboard). Then, when you log back in you will see the "Authorize Ace My Budget" page again where you can select the budget to link.

Do you support syncing for two or more Amazon accounts?

We do not officially support two or more Amazon accounts for one Ace My Budget account. However, there are two possible workarounds:

  1. You can connect one account, wait 24 hours for a sync, then disconnect the first account, and then connect the second account. You get 2 weeks of backdated transactions synced every time a sync is run so the service won't miss any transactions.
  2. In the case where the Amazon accounts are owned by separate people that currently use the same YNAB account, you can actually utilize YNAB Together to create a separate YNAB login for the other person. They can then use their new YNAB login to create a new Ace My Budget account which they can then connect to their own Amazon account. This is the solution that I use with my wife.

When does Ace My Budget populate my YNAB transaction memos?

Ace My Budget automatically syncs your transaction memos around 9am UTC every day (2am PST). Your transactions must first be imported into YNAB before that time for them to be synced. YNAB does not automatically import transactions in the background and you will have to open the app and import them into YNAB prior to the sync time before Ace My Budget is able to populate the memos. This is a YNAB limitation and there is nothing that Ace My Budget can do to force the import for YNAB.

I recommend opening YNAB before bed and ensuring the transactions have been imported. The memos should be populated by Ace My Budget by the following morning (if you live in the Americas Timezones).

What is the memo format?

The synchronization process incorporates your Amazon order details into the YNAB transaction memo, adhering to an 80-character limit. This limit is designed to ensure visibility without scrolling on both iOS and Android devices. For transactions involving multiple items, this character limit is shared.
